If a microscope is run “with assistance”, a KPIF employee will image samples that are submitted. If customers would prefer to run an instrument without assistance, a training process is required. Training will consist of approximately one hour supervised time on the instrument. The user will be expected to show that he/she will be able to use the instrument without assistance prior to signing off on training. Once training has been completed, the user will be granted card-swipe access to the facility. The KPIF Google calendar should be used to sign up for unassisted time on the instrument. This system will be used to maintain a record of use for the instrument, guarantee instrument availability, as well as information for billing purposes.
